Starting at Pre-school is obviously a big step in any child's life and the way in which they respond will vary. A child who is tense or unhappy will not be able to play and learn properly, so we encourage parents/carers and staff to work together to help the child feel confident and secure in the group.
We recognise that this takes longer for some children than for others and parents/carers should not be worried if your child takes a while to settle.
Please feel free to speak with the Manager, or key workers if you have any worries or concerns regarding the settling of your child.
In order for your child to feel free to explore and experiment with all kinds of materials, including some messy ones, we suggest they wear clothes that are durable and washable.
We do have a pre-school uniform of polo shirt and sweat shirt, which we strongly recommend to parents - a uniform order is attached to the Registration Form.
Simple jogging bottoms or pull on trousers/skirts that children can handle themselves will enable them to handle their personal toilet times with greater ease and efficiency.
Please try to send the child in clothing without fasteners (buttons and zips) and please no belts, as these are restrictive, time consuming and may cause embarrassment at toilet times.
All children’s items must be clearly labeled including lunch boxes, sun hat and sun cream, coat for outdoor play.
Children have daily access to the outdoor play area , please ensure appropriate outdoor wear is clearly named.
